We are EXCITED to announce DEAF ASIAN STREET FESTIVAL — a meaningful and transformational initiative that honors the vibrant contributions of Deaf Asians to both the Deaf and Hearing communities of the Greater New York Area. This event is made possible through collaboration with local government agencies.
We are PROUD to announce the first citywide community and cultural street event hosted by Deaf Asians – the Deaf Asian Street Festival – with incredible support from Detective Angel Familia (CODA) of NYPD Community Affairs Bureau.
We are THRILLED to lead this historic effort and invite everyone to join us in building a stronger, more connected future. Let’s celebrate our Deaf Asian identity, culture, and unity!
This festival aims to empower and prepare the Deaf Asian community for the challenges we face, ensuring access to resources, visibility, and meaningful support systems.
The event will take place at Columbus Park in Manhattan Chinatown – a symbolic location rich in cultural history, led by DASF Chairperson, Khanh Lao, whose vision is to build bridges between the Deaf and Hearing communities while celebrating shared Asian heritage and cultural pride.
Our Goals for DASF
