Deaf Asian Street Festival is a vibrant celebration of the rich and colorful heritage of Asian communities, held in the heart of New York City.
MADA’s mission is to empower and preserve the Asian cultural values for the Asian Deaf community and to improve the quality of life for the Deaf Asian Community through comprehensive support services, cultural preservation, and community engagement.
Our Community
MADA’s Deaf Community has made significant contributions to improving the lives of the Deaf Asian Community by increasing self-awareness about themselves with confidence, pride, self-esteem & strong community support, building good community relationships with other local, regional, and national communities, and creating more safe space for all people involved.
MADA program events have garnered over 100 community members providing an unique and enriching experience for the Deaf community and their families. The success of the event was made possible with the generous support of many sponsors from both nonprofit and corporate sources. Announcement!
We are excited to launch a meaningful and transformational initiative that highlights our contributions to both the Deaf and Hearing communities of the Greater New York Area, in collaboration with local government agencies. We are proud to announce the first citywide community and cultural street event hosted by Deaf Asians – Deaf Asian Street Festival – with incredible support from Detective Angel Familia (CODA) of NYPD Community Affairs Bureau.
Located in a bustling high foot-traffic neighborhood with thousands of people passing through daily, the festival will take place at Columbus Park in Manhattan Chinatown. This landmark event will be led by the experienced DASF Chairperson, Khanh Lao, whose vision is to bring the Deaf and Hearing communities together, fostering unity and celebrating our shared Asian heritage and cultural ties.

We are committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of Deaf Asian Community and look forward to welcoming participants to this groundbreaking event.

- Donating goods, supplies, equipment, or services with a minimum estimated Fair Market Value (FMV) of $500, OR
